Floor 9 is an anomaly hunting horror game that places you at an elevator in middle of a hotel hallway. Where most anomaly hunting horror games start you at the end of a linear hallway, helping with memorization and repetition, Floor 9 shakes things up a bit by starting you at the center of the level each time. In Floor 9 you must determine what is normal and what is slightly off before hitting the appropriate elevator button indicating the decision you’ve made. I struggled quite a bit with Floor 9 because a lot of the anomalies are incredibly subtle compared to most anomaly hunting games I’ve played in the past. Overall it was a decent experience but lacked creativity and originality in the anomaly hunting horror genre. In fact, I would say Floor 9’s obsession with near impossible anomaly detection hindered its ability to innovate a more creative, fun experience at the expense of having more obvious obvious anomolies.
