The Heroes - Wharf Number Nine (1977)
The Heroes were a British rock band formed in 1975. The group composed many popular songs and were even scouted by a talent agent who spoke highly of them, citing their potential to play in London and beyond. The group primarily toured several towns and cities in the North of England until creative differences caused them to go on hiatus around 1980/1981. A brief attempt at reformation was planned, but an agreement couldn't be reached, causing the band to officially disband.
"Wharf Number Nine" is one of The Heroes more well-known tracks, and one of the few that still survives today due to digital archival efforts on my part. The song talks about the group's experiences while visiting countless clubs and nightlife hotspots.
Full disclosure - my father was the drummer of The Heroes, and was an active member of the group from its formation until its initial hiatus. If you enjoy the song then feel welcome to leave a like and show your support. Thanks again guys!
