269The journey continues through the history of DOCTOR WHO VIEWING FIGURES! We've reached SEASON 23, the second & final season for Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor!
Across a mammoth 14-part adventure, the Doctor is placed on trial by the Time Lords. The prosecuting Valeyard (Michael Jayston) wants the Doctor to be found guilty, and through his evidence, together with the Doctors defence, it's up to the Inquisitor (Lynda Bellingham) and a gallery of Time Lords to decide our hero's fate. We see a past journey to unravel the mystery of Ravalox, the demise of the Doctors trusted companion Peri (Nicola Bryant), the arrival of the bouncy, bubbly Mel (Bonnie Langford) far into the future, and the final battle, in which the Valeyard's true identity will be revealed...
But after battling Drathro, Sil, the Vervoids, and even himself, how did the Doctor do in the viewing figures department? After an 18-month hiatus, were the audiences ready to flock back in their millions to rejoin the Doctor on his adventures? Or were they turning away, and was the Time Lord's stint on the air finally done for good...
