The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Interview: Nina Jacobson
Producer Nina Jacobson continues her journey with The Hunger Games film franchise with the fifth film of the series, a prequel -- The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
The story takes place 64 years before Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers as tribute in the 74th Hunger Games. Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) is a young man struggling to restore his family's name in The Capitol. He thinks attending University will put him on a more promising path, but his family can't afford the tuition. However, winning the Plinth Prize could change that. Given he's at the top of this class, the Prize should be his, but this year is different. There's one last test Coriolanus will have to pass in order to win the money. He'll have to mentor a tribute in the 10th Hunger Games, and he's struck with one of the tributes that's least likely to win, Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) from District 12.
With The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' November 17th release coming up fast, Collider's Perri Nemiroff got the chance to chat with Jacobson about her journey with the franchise, bringing Lucy Gray's songs to screen, her collaboration with author Suzanne Collins, and more.
