The King of Fighters XV - Story with Terry Bogard/Robert Garcia/Ryo Sakazaki
2No, it's clear that not every expectation was shattered with this game (contrary to what its tagline explicitly states), but KOF XV is still a quality fighting game overall, what with its emphasis on an excellent online experience and superior graphics/gameplay over the previous entry, KOF XIV. That being said, though, this game did shatter some of my expectations, chief among them being the return of Terry's 'Garou: Mark of the Wolves' outfit (AKA Terry's best appearance ever according to some fighting gam fans) as an early purchase bonus.
Oh, and before you ask, this game's AI on default difficulty is no pushover (especially when it comes to the crazy final boss - either that, or I'm just not good enough at fighting games in general). And yes, the boss-nerfing service system from the good old arcade days is back, better than ever before (probably).
Fun fact: 'The King of Fighters' originally started out as a concept for a side-scrolling beat 'em up involving the 'Fatal Fury' and 'Art of Fighting' franchises, with Terry Bogard and Robert Garcia being the playable characters (hence the reason why I chose Terry, Robert and Ryo for this particular story playthrough). However, that idea was eventually scrapped in favor of a team-based versus fighting game, and the rest became history.
