The Story About The Game:
The Last of Us is an action-adventure game released in 2013 by Sony Computer Entertainment and developed by Naughty Dog. Players take control of Joel, a smuggler charged with transporting Ellie, a young girl, through a post-apocalyptic America. The Last of Us is a third-person shooter. Players fight against aggressive people and cannibalistic monsters afflicted by a mutant fungus of the species Cordyceps with firearms and homemade weaponry, as well as stealth. Up to eight people can compete and cooperate in the online multiplayer mode.
The Last of Us development began in 2009, shortly after the release of Naughty Dog's last game, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Naughty Dog divided into two teams for the first time in the company's history; while one team worked on Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, the other half worked on The Last of Us. Joel and Ellie's relationship became the focal point, with all other components developing around it. Through voice and motion capture, actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson portrayed Joel and Ellie, respectively, and supported creative director Neil Druckmann with the creation of the characters and plot. Gustavo Santaolalla penned and performed the original music.
The Last of Us was keenly anticipated since its announcement in December 2011. It was published in June 2013 for the PlayStation 3. It was praised for its storyline, gameplay, aesthetics, sound design, soundtrack, characterization, and portrayal of female characters. The Last of Us went on to become one of the best-selling video games of all time, selling over 1.3 million sales in its first week and 17 million by April 2018. Several gaming media, commentators, and game award ceremonies praised the game at the end of the year, including numerous Game of the Year honours. It's been called one of the best video games ever developed.
Naughty Dog added additional content to The Last of Us: Left Behind, which includes a single-player adventure featuring Ellie and her closest friend Riley. The Last of Us Remastered, a remastered version, was published in July 2014 for the PlayStation 4. [b] The Last of Us Part II was released in June 2020. The Last of Us Part I, a remake of the original, was published in September 2022 for PlayStation 5 and eventually for Windows. HBO is producing a television adaption, written by Druckmann and Craig Mazin and starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.
