Welp, ever since the leaks came out for this game, I've had my expectations set for this game. However, to see for myself, I chose to bite the bullet and spend the 60$ for this game.

I wanna preface this by mentioning that I enjoyed Last of Us 1. I thought the gameplay was alright (wasn't too much my thing) and the story and characters were rather well written and fleshed out.

Well... I'll just say it here. To nobody's surprise, the story writing is GOD AWFUL (except for some Ellie flashbacks). And I'll be putting out my vods to archive my painful experience here for anyone else curious to see what it was I had the misfortune of suffering through.

Story gripes aside, gameplay didn't really innovate much, graphics and animations look amazing, and the music was still nice like in the first game. However, with how story-driven a game like LoU2 is, if the story is poorly written, I cannot bring myself to enjoy going through the game knowing disappointment is around each corner despite what good moments there could be through gameplay.
