Background and early life
At some point prior to 2034, Jesse moved to the Jackson settlement under the leadership of Maria Miller. He also began dating Dina, another survivor living in the community. Their relationship was described as "on-and-off" by Ellie.
After Ellie and Joel Miller found safe haven within Jackson, Jesse became friends with Ellie. His relationship with Dina continued in an on-and-off fashion for years. The two eventually agreed to break up permanently, but remained friends.
In 2034, Jesse joined Jackson's border patrol, helping to keep the settlement safe from roaming infected. He patrolled regularly with several people, between 2034 and 2037, notably Eugene Linden, Mike, Dina and William. However, he patrolled with Astrid the most during this time span. He killed numerous runners and clickers while on patrol and even rescued other survivors from infected attacks. He also occasionally went as a trio with Eugene and Dina, even though going in pairs was the regular protocol.
By 2038, Jesse's experience as a patrolmen meant he became one of the group's leaders, assigning patrol routes and briefing the patrolmen before they left for their routes. This also meant he was one of the few people Maria was willing to let patrol alone, permitting him to relieve Joel and Tommy from patrol duties even though he did not have a partner.
Dina is the deuteragonist of Ellie's story in The Last of Us Part II and a playable character in the No Return mode. She is Ellie's partner and assists her in her quest for revenge.
Background and early life
Dina was born sometime between 2015 and 2018.[6] She was orphaned at a young age, leading her older sister, Talia, to raise her.At some point prior to 2033, Dina moved to Jackson, Wyoming, and joined the community under the leadership of Maria. During their trip to Seattle, Dina told Ellie her first kill was when she was ten, stabbing a man who tried to attack her mother. She also became acquainted with Jesse, another survivor who lived within the settlement.
After Ellie and Joel found safety within Jackson, Dina became friends with the former. She also dated Jesse, though they eventually broke up.
Maria Miller is a supporting character in The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II. She is Tommy Miller's wife. She leads a thriving community in Jackson, Wyoming
Events of The Last of Us
Sometime after the initial outbreak of the Cordyceps brain infection, Maria and her father ran a settlement in Jackson, Wyoming, using a hydroelectric power plant to generate electricity for the settlement. They soon became the leaders of their settlement as more families settled down in their safe haven. Maria would later meet Tommy after he left the Fireflies and his brother Joel in Boston. The two grew close, eventually getting married. However, the dam suffered daily attacks from a group of bandits, making them rather hostile to strangers.
Maria is briefly mentioned again when Ellie and Joel talk in Jackson. She and Tommy were trying to get Joel interested in a woman within the community while also having him and Ellie do maintenance work for them. Maria eventually found out about Ellie's immunity and kept it a secret.
