The Last of Us Episode 7 Game and Show Comparison #shorts #thelastofus (Part 3 of 7)
Episode Seven of the Last of Us starts out directly after the events of Episode 6, which we see a recap of, in the games, Left Behind Episode. In the show, we see Ellie tending to Joel, who is incapacitated and tells her to leave him and to go back to Tommy.
As she is exiting, we then see a flashback of when Ellie was a FEDRA Trainee. She gets in a fight with another girl and then gets sent to the captain’s office for a talking to. We next see Ellie asleep, before someone sneaks into her room. This is when the game and the show become largely in sync as we are introduced to Riley. A friend of Ellie who has been missing for the past three weeks.
In the game, we then see Ellie’s story return to the present day, tending to Joel, before heading out for supplies.
In the show, we then see Riley leading Ellie to a surprise, described as the best night of her life. While Ellie in the game, has reached the mall and is navigating around clickers, as she continues her hunt for supplies, before returning to her flashback, remembering when Riley and her were heading to the mall. In both, Riley explains meeting Marlene, and joining the fireflies.

In the game, Riley and Ellie stop to compete with each other to see who can break all of the windows on the cars by throwing bricks.
Then, Ellie’s flashback pauses as she sees the wreckage of a military medical helicopter hanging from the ceiling of the mall. In order to get to it, she has to power up a door, by activating a generator, but first she must find some gas for it. While of course dealing with some infected.
In the live action version, Ellie has fun on the escalators with Riley, and they take a ride on a carousel.
Once Ellie finally reaches the helicopter and retrieves some medical supplies, we see her flashback of the carousel. In both versions, they then end up in a photo booth.

Then, In both versions, they are interrupted when an infected person arrives to attack them.
In the game, we next see Ellie snapping back to the present and making her way out of the helicopter, before running into a ton of raiders. Once she dispatches them, the game returns to the flashback of Ellie and Riley running from the infected, similar to what we see in the show.
Once they finish off the attacker, they both realize that they’ve been bitten.
