The Last Of Us Multiplayer Officially Cancelled
0Hi everyone, Naughty dog studio has announced that they are canceling their work on the last of us multiplayer game. Studio said that the full scope of the project was only realized when it entered full production, to the point where the developer could only choose one of two paths: To Become a solely live service games studio, or continue to focus on single-player narrative games that have defined Naughty Dog’s heritage.
The studio has chosen the latter and so its live service The Last of Us game is no-more, but they confirmed that they are working on more than one brand new single player game, and that they can't wait to share more info when they are ready.
Speaking of live service games, Electronic Arts has announced that the Rocket Arena servers will be shut down on March 21st next year. Game has launched in July 2020 and was not free to play, and now after more than 3 years the game is coming to its end. This shows that keeping the live service game alive is as much as important as creating it, and Naughty dog studio can't focus on both upcoming single player games and a live service game.
