In our latest The Last of Us Part 1 video, we continued exploring the captivating Hotel Lobby, where our mission was to unlock the secret of the safe/vault. But first, we had to find the code to open it! I must say, the hotel environment in The Last of Us is incredibly immersive and captivating, with stunning water reflections, vibrant colors, and nature slowly reclaiming the hotel.
Back to the story and gameplay, we searched the lobby for the code but came up empty-handed. So, we ventured deeper into the hotel rooms, where I displayed my renowned gameplay skills, focusing on stealth mode and silently eliminating hunters. We had our fair share of success, even though the hotel had more floors than expected. As we made our way through the hotel rooms, we encountered a mix of funny moments and unexpected traps.
Unable to find the code on the second floor, I decided to head back to the ground floor to continue my search. I soon discovered a path we had missed near the main staircase in the hotel lobby. Squeezing through, I found a note for hotel employees just a few steps away, revealing the vault code had been changed to 22-10-59. Turns out, it was right under our noses the whole time! It would've been more interesting if they hid it better or integrated it into a puzzle, but oh well.
Excited, we opened the vault, only to find it full of weak and useless items. So much effort for nothing! Nonetheless, we laughed it off and proceeded to the hotel's third floor. Once again, I tried playing in stealth mode and staying quiet. However, the last hunter ambushed me, forcing a change to a more action-packed strategy. Everything went smoothly until Joel suggested we go through an elevator shaft. This risky decision nearly cost us our lives, as the elevator plummeted, leaving Ellie behind while I fell into the hotel's basement. Incredibly, I survived the fall by landing in a pool of water.
The basement was completely flooded, forcing us to swim through the eerie, dimly lit area. The once playful and chill atmosphere of the Hotel Lobby was now replaced by a creepy and tense vibe. To progress, I frequently dove underwater to bypass obstacles. We concluded this The Last of Us Part 1 gameplay episode with an attack by rats, but I have a feeling that's just the tip of the iceberg. I can't shake the feeling that we'll soon encounter clickers, as this environment seems perfect for them.
