Today, I'm showing you what The Last of Us Multiplayer looks like. The Multiplayer is called Faction, and it contains two game types: Supply Raid and Survivors. Before you get into the online part, you have to choose a side to represent: The Hunters or the Fireflies.
Hunters are "Survivors of a fallen quarantine zone. They use DIY tactics. The concept of 'Survival of the fittest' rules any resemblance to structure. Show an extreme loyalty to the group. Willing to kill anyone trying to grab their territory or resources. Looking for numbers to help fight off other factions and scavange for resources."
Fireflies are "an organized militia group. Kicked out of the last remaining quarantine zones due to their political beliefs. They want to recruit anyone who's willing to fight for their cause, believe there is a cure to be found and will do anything to keep the belief alive. Anything or anyone in the way of their cause will not be tolerated."
Once you've chosen your side, you'll be stuck in that group until your clan dies or survives long enough to win. There are a total of 12 weeks, and each match/round counts as a day. So 7 rounds = 1 week and so on. I THINK that's how it works, and after the 12 weeks are up, you can switch to the other side if you wish.
I've decided to join the Fireflies. The one thing I'm not sure about yet is if you invite a friend to your match, idk if they'll be on your team or not depending on the side they decided to go with. So, if you want to play as a team with a friend, I guess make sure you guys choose the same side: Hunters or Fireflies.
Next, you can customize your character's hat, mask, helmet, taunts, and also make a custom Emblem. You also get to make your own loadouts and add certain attachments to your weapons. You start off with 4 loadouts already made. There are also perks to select from that will give you special abilities in aiming, creating explosives or melee weapons, first aid, and much more. You can unlock more weapons and perks the more points you gain after matches. You also unlock outfits after a certain amount of days. There is also rankings, but I'm not sure how you level up just yet, maybe you rank up after a certain amount of in game days.
There is also something called Population. Like in order to unlock certain items, you need a certain amount of population. What I think this means is that if you win a match, more people get added to your population. In the Multiplayer menu, it says Healthy, Hungry, and Sick. The Population amount will be under Healthy. If you lose matches, certain members from the healthy will become Hungry or Sick. To bring them back to Healthy, you need to win match. So the more wins, the more population and you'll be able to unlock things.
Also I think you need to pick up items off from enemies you kill cause there's like a blue outline logo of a cup in the menu telling you how much you need; these unlock things too. The enemies you kill in a match drop those, so be sure to pick those up.
After certain matches, you'll be told you have to complete a mission and there will be a list to choose from. These missions are like heal a certain amount of players in match, or kill a certain amount of enemies with a bow or other weapon. But the missions are 3 days long (3 matches). So lets say you go with the bow mission, day 1, you have to kill 3 people with a bow in a match. Once you do that, you move on to day 2, which will increase to having to kill 6 people in a match with the bow. After you complete that, you'll move onto Day 3, which is having to kill 9 people in a match with a bow. I THINK that's how it works, or it all adds up the kills you get from all matches you go through. The Mission are basically like challenges you have to do like in any other video game. But I THINK this is how the missions work. You don't have to do the missions in a row of matches though.
Okay, so back to the video. I'm playing Supply Raid on the Map "The Dam;" and I've chosen to be on the Fireflies side. So Until my population dies out, or lasts throughout the 12 weeks, I'll be able to switch over to the Hunters side. Also, when joining a match, I think it randomly chooses the character you play as whether its male or female. I'm still trying to get familiar with how all this works, so correct me if I'm wrong in anything I wrote in this Description by writing in the Comments Section. I'm on week 2 Day 1 for the Multiplayer as a Firefly btw.
Next video will be the Survivors game type. I'm still completing the story, and it's just amazing. If you don't have this game yet, I highly recommend you go out and get it!
