The Legend of Heroes IV - Stepping Lightly remix by Midi Music
Fan of RPGs, Falcom games have always fascinated me with their superb illustrations and fantastic music. Unfortunately I only played a few YS games on master system and megadrive. In fact, most of these older games were only released in Japan and on NEC systems that I couldn't afford to buy.
I discovered this music recently on the great channel of https://www.youtube.com/@spoonybard13
I fell in love with this great catchy melody and this typical 90's sounds.
This game is one of the first The Legend of Heroes game (Falcom is still releasing games games in this series). It was released in 1996 for NEC PC-9801 and later for playstation and got a remake on PSP in 2006.
My challenge was to be as faithful as possible to the original music while trying to energize it even more (if it was possible). So, I slightly modified the melody and the bass line to make them more groovy and percussive. As I also wanted to bring more variety to the music, I added additional instruments and arpeggios.
I'm still using Ableton, Roland Fantom 06 and Roland Juno sounds. For this one, I was looking for an old vintage EP Piano, so I used in addition the SRX keyboard sound extension from Roland.
Hope you'll enjoy !
