The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Three-Player Playthrough (Direct 3DS Capture) - World 1
8This is part 1 of my capture of me and two friends playing through The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes for the 3DS using online multiplayer. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my New 3DS XL using the aftermarket capture kit manufactured by Katsukity and installed/sold by Merki. I'm Green Link, Keet is Blue Link, and ZAV is Red Link.
Nintendo announced that the online services for the Wii U and 3DS will be shutting down this year, so I decided to record a new online playthrough of this game since this will be my last opportunity. This new footage no longer has the annoying stuttering issue from before, and it should be sharper as well. Hopefully the gameplay is better too.
This time I was joined by Keet and ZAV, so a big thanks goes out to them for helping me with this.

I first played Tri Force Heroes at E3 2015. Nintendo gave me and my friend Peter free tickets to the show as part of the Nintendo Creator's Program, and I was able to play various games before their official release. Peter and I were able to try this game specifically, and we had quite a bit of fun with the cooperative elements. We had already beaten Four Swords Adventures years earlier on the GameCube, and Tri Force Heroes seemed reminiscent of that title. However, Tri Force Heroes only allowed up to three players instead of four.
I ultimately purchased Tri Force Heroes on its release date in October of 2015 and proceeded to play the game online with random people. It took me several months, but I eventually found a group that was able to beat the final level, and I managed to unlock the remaining costumes some time after that.
I like this game quite a bit, but I think it focuses on puzzle solving a little too much. I prefer more of the action and exploration that was utilized in Four Swords Adventures. The costumes, however, are quite interesting, with some of them being blatantly overpowered. The totem mechanic is also neat, but a bad player can completely screw that up online. Luckily, this game becomes far more enjoyable when you're playing with friends.
We'll be completing an entire world in each video, and I'll be utilizing various costumes along the way for variety. I hope you enjoy the footage.
