Between film projects Amy Sedgewick would be happy to sell you a house.

There are two sides of Amy Sedgwick. There's the real estate agent who can talk about kitchen work flows. And then there's the movie director whose 14 minute Spanish language film "Pearl"won Best Short at both the Madrid and the Mexico International Film Festivals as well as an audience award at the Columbia Gorge Film Festival.

"Pearl is the story of a Mexican woman who works in a small, small town in an oyster plant," says Sedgwick. "And she's always put her own desires aside so when we enter the story she's come to a place where it's decision time. She makes a choice."

Sedgwick saved up thousands of dollars to pay for the four day shoot in her dad's home town of South Bend. With the help of crowd-sourcing she finished the film and entered it into nine film festivals.
