I read "The Long Tail" by Chris Anderson way back in 2006 or 2007.
It predicted a world of great recommendation engines and a healthy audience for middle tier creators.
Instead, the opposite has happened. The biggest creators are even bigger. The tail is there but it is SO think that there is very little money available for anyone outside the top tier.
So is The Long Tail a lie?
