Track 113: The Boy, the Girl, and the Weapon #1


Yura hangs up the phone, snitty about his conversation with Kali. The funding they are being provided allows them to do things they would never otherwise be able to, but unfortunately her money -- and her status as a war hero -- mean that he is obligated to listen to her commands, and the newest one involves playing bodyguard to her mansion. He takes out his frustrations on the assistant, but Emil steps in and says he shouldn't be doing this to the researchers.

Yura agrees. He proceeds to slam Emil into a wall and choke him.

Emil tries to struggle out of Yura's grip, but Yura does not let up and instead fires off a weapon that he calls the latest invention of the Hamelin Organization. He explains that it's perfectly harmless to humans-- but any being composed of or infused with [i]maso[/i] will be affected by it.

Emil is crippled by the device and Yura finally lets him collapse to the floor. The assistant tries to run to help the boy, but Yura stops her and threatens to shoot if she moves any closer. He explains that he will do anything and use anything necessary to achieve his goals, and he has already shown no compunctions with shooting innocent bystanders.

One of his men reminds him of his obligation to guard Kali and her family. Yura tells the men to report to headquarters that, due to unforseen circumstances, he had to take action and actively engage the Red Eye. He also tells them to let headquarters know not to interfere or warn civilians about the situation.

The assistant protests.

Yura slugs her.

He leaves, ordering the rest of his men to remain at the institution and guard the rest of the scientists while the muscle heads out to the mansion. They take Emil with them.
