The Lynx Effect - The Camputers Lynx #Retro #Retrocomputers #Retrocomputing
The UK’s 8-bit gold rush didn’t lack variety, with many machines attempting to replicate the success of Sinclair’s machines. Here’s the story of another lesser-known computer from that time.
In 1983 Camputers released their Lynx computer. It was based on the Z80A processor running at 4Mhz for the 48K model. It was also available with 96K and 128K, but it could be fitted with up to 192K. The larger models also run slightly faster at 6MHz.
Eventually, Camputers would christen these models with catchy names, like the Leisure for the low-end model and the Laureate for the top-end.
