Well, those last two levels may have taken me longer than I hoped, but I was finally able to beat Metal Wolf Chaos XD this time. The funny part about this, is that it turns out there was yet another mechanic I had no idea existed until I looked at the guide. Turns out, the super mode was inside me the whole time. Granted, it's not the best, but it makes you invincible and cranks up your attack power for like 5 or 10 seconds. Burst Mode is okay by me. But I wish Devolver Digital had included some kind of digital manual, either in-game or as an extra PDF.

The funny thing is, the Las Vegas fight I was stuck on the last time was a breeze. Granted, I lost the first time, since you're apparently supposed to use Burst Mode to counter Richard's own use of it... and I wasted mine practicing the activation the first time around. The second time, I just straight up annihilated him. I'm honestly surprised that I was able to do so well, considering how much I was struggling during the previous stream.

The final level, the Space Station, was tonight's major time sink. And it was all due to the final boss. Holy crap, what a beast. Like, it got to the point where I resorted to the guide again for its second form... and it literally suggested climbing the stairs up to the platform. Like, it seems literally impossible to fight the thing without doing that. After that, it was just a matter of trial and error, effectively learning from my mistakes and using that to craft the perfect run. And while it seems possible to lose on its "final form", I didn't want to take any chances, so I just unloaded on it with my strongest weapons.

The ending fit with the rest of the game, that much I can say. What really surprised me is that it didn't lead to the credits. Instead, it just sent you back to the intro and that snazzy new title screen. I don't really like seeing work go uncredited, so I just decided to select the credits from the main menu and played them. No big deal, it only felt long because the music track they set it to was like 15 seconds... with 5 seconds of dead silence between loops.

And as I mentioned at the end, I will be taking an unforeseen hiatus from streaming, due to a family emergency. I'd rather not go into detail about it here -- all I'm going to say is that the people I want to know about this, know about it. I'm not sure if I'll be back again before the end of the year... and frankly, given the circumstances, I'm not exactly -hoping- that that won't be the case. It's an unfortunate situation and I'll try to handle things to the best of my ability.

But just in case this is my last stream of 2021, have a nice remainder of the year!
