The Making of Gabriel Knight (1993) - NintendoComplete
The Making of Gabriel Knight, recorded from a PC running Windows 3.11 off of the original 1993 Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers' CD. Yes, the one with the wholly bizarre shaped box that was impossible to fix next to other games on the shelf.
The interview (I know it's super grainy! It was a 20 minute AVI, old VFW codec recorded, smashed into 160 megs and encoded to stream off of a single speed CD-ROM drive) features Jane Jensen, Robert Holmes, Tim Curry, Mark Hamill, Leah Remini, and Michael Dorn. For such an early game, this one really knocked it out of the park with the talent employed! Celebs were unheard of back then in gaming, let alone so many fairly kinda relevant ones back in 1993. Games did have good voice acting early on... they were just rare.
I mean, really, Stacy Carosi from the beach episodes of Saved by the Bell playing a bookishly haughty Chinese-American hottie? Yes, please.
Hope you enjoy this "behind the scenes" peek at one of the best graphic adventures ever created, and easily a top-three pick for Sierra On-line's retardedly amazing genre line-up between 1990-1996.
(Please ignore the terrible Dr. Seuss like rhyme there. I got a bit carried away)
I, for one, am beside myself waiting for the remake that's slated for Summer of 2014 - just a few months away!
