It’s been almost 3 years since the release of this radically divisive sequel. Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog really pushed the envelope In terms of exploring the darkest recesses of the human psyche in excoriating detail.
While public opinions have run rampant on the narrative and immensely questionable events and structure within said story, it is undeniable how much The Last of Us Part II was able to accomplish for the gaming industry.
From amazing set pieces to some of the most realistic and visceral combat and facial animations to ever grace a gamers screen, this game brought it all and dragged us relentlessly through Ellie’s gut-wrenching campaign for vengeance.
1) Did Joel really deserve better?
2) What is the true mindset of a person who commits as many heinous acts as Ellie has committed?
3) Does this relentless post apocalyptic reality allow it’s characters to mourn the way they deserve?
These are just some of the topics we discuss on the third episode of our Podcast here at Filmic.
