The Maps of Solaris Offworld Combat
30Hello Athlon, welcome back to SOWC 101, in this series of training videos we’ll be going over the basics of Off World Combat. In today’s video, we’ll be taking a look at the maps coming your way at launch. Now, let's log in and get started.
Let’s hop in to one of my favorites, Tarvos, the first variant, Tarvos Prime, is packed with great flank routes. Take control of three large and two small capture zones, while battling on the bridge or hunkering down in one of the tight hallways. Another variant, Tarvos Minor, shrinks the map down to only three capture points for some tighter and more aggressive gameplay.
Next up in the holofield, let's take a trip to Vortex. Vortex Major will have you teleporting from capture point to capture point, while taking in the vista of shooting stars in space, and Vortex Minor, the smallest of our maps, is pure chaos, and is sure to become a fan favorite in no time. With some areas containing up to 3 levels of engagement, Athlons must race to combat as the deadly vortex looms below!
Next, we make our way to Fury. Easily one of the most treacherous planets ever discovered, it is now home to a pair of deadly holofields. Traverse the stalactites to get some great gear and a competitive edge as you make your way to hold the control point. With some of the highest risk reward opportunities, you'll be riveted as Athlons evade and attack all while avoiding the pitfalls of the molten plasma pools. Keep an eye out of Fury 451 and Fury Major.
Finally, let’s take a look at the newest holofield, Gemini. Designed to feel like a classic sports pitch, both teams start out on either side of the holofield with a set of matching control points and a third placed directly in the middle. Watch out for enemy flanks as you zip through teleporters or sprint down the sides. We have a feeling this will quickly become a fan favorite.
