The Master and the Slave | Frankenstein Video Essay
I took a Cult Classics class in college where we read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. If you've never read it, I highly recommend taking the time to - it's a fantastic exploration into the power and inevitable danger of the pursuit of knowledge and becoming a slave to your own inventions/pursuit. This was an essay I wrote for that class on the master/slave dynamic between Victor and his creation that I picked up on whilst reading and found particularly interesting. And by popular demand, I decided it was time to finally start narrating these videos myself instead of using an automated voice. I hope you enjoy this essay as much as I did writing it. What are your thoughts?
PSA: Please use the terms "Frankenstein" and "Frankenstein's creation/monster" responsibly.
Note: The OED has since updated some definitions since the writing of this essay that I did not realize til after recording.
