The Mediocre Zone |#87 | The Devil Inside (2000) Cryo's reality Ghost Show
The Devil Inside was a odd game to boot ... sold as a budget game on Two Cds ... one had the game with CD-Audio the other a CD- Audio music CD ...
Build as a Spoofed TV show around ghost Hunting ... with Dave that was possessed by a Succubus Deva to steal his soul... but in the end , stayed with him to hunt down those souls that escaped Hell ...
So you can say its Resident Evil on Drugs ... with Cryo's unique way of presenting horror ... it was so bad , that it was good ... its a short game if you ask , has a lot of clipping issues ... but it was fun
For those asking how to play this game on Win7 and up this is for you :
It was designed so it looks for the CD after C: drive (it read from this CD-Audio and Movies) so D: or E: if you don't have have D: drive ... the same is with the cracked version that also has this error (it only works from C: drive or the next drive after C:)
So to make it work you go to Start Menu
-- My PC (or This PC)
-- Right mouse button
-- pick the option Manage
-- your now in Computer Manager
-- Go to Storage
-- Disk Management
-- select the drive D: or E: (or the drive after C:)
-- Right Click The partition
-- go to Change Drive Letter
-- Change it to one below you have room
-- Then select your CD drive or Virtual drive to the letter after C:
and as show game now sees the disc (reads the CD-Audio and plays the Video files)?
oh and you also need d3dwindower-english to get past the Intro bug (it looks for the video files but cannot find them if your system has too many drives) and after you start this game with this program ... and get past the intro, save your game ... then exit the program , start this game normally and load your save ... the thing is near the end its also a movie that will crash this game on Win7 and UP ... so you have to do the same thing just to see the ending movie ... save before the ending , load this game through D3dw to see the ending video ...
I know its F#cked , to play this game but it was a WinXp game and those games had only this problems ... too bad GOG did not re-released this
and if D3dW does not work for you, then try dxwnd
and here is the Save for those that dont care about the Intro :
