The Mediocre Zone |#91| Yooka-Laylee (2017) a game that does not respect you
Yooka-Laylee a turbulent game that wanted to be like a old school platformer ... but forgetting its gaming mechanics
Started to play this in 2017 ... and after 2h ... stopped and forgot this game existed (and now its 2018 and still forgot about it ... till now)... that's how memorable it was.... same can be said about its story , world , music and maps ... that where meant to make you come back to it , fuel you to finish it (even Knack 1 and 2 , did a better job )... and then i heard, that all hardcore platformer fans said it was a crap game ??? .... From those 2h i had with it, and two worlds i had finished... it was a fine game ... but then i saw like 4 or 6 reviews , from people that finished the whole game ... and explained in simple words, why this game was Mediocre or Crap to them :
" Its a modern take on platformers , but with no Mini Map , awful annoying voices and no real pulling force."
"A game from devs that forgot the bread crumbs mechanic , to replace the missing map . "
"Over spanned side missions mini-games , that block your main quest progress. Why side missions block your main quest? Should they not be optional? "
"Why do every game has to have a stamina bar for every skill you require? "
and then i played more of it and ... well, can say the same ...
