The missed 1v1 that decided a World Cup final
#FIFAWorldCup #Netherlands
We’re fast approaching the World Cup final in Lusail, two of our Christmases are quite literally almost being rolled into one. Before we get to the showpiece event, however, we’re going to roll a couple of Dutch Christmases into videos this week.
The Netherlands have quite possibly the most glorious history of failure in the competition, since they have appeared at three finals and lost the lot.
Whilst we won’t cover the 1974 final today, we’ll discuss the heartache of Rob Rensenbrink hitting the post in the last minute against Argentina in 1978 as well as Arjen Robben missing a golden one-on-one chance in 2010 against Spain.
