Since we were introduced to Axel/Lea in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories his motives have always been unpredictable to say the least. From acting as an assassin, taking out traitors like Marluxia and Larxene, in Castle Oblivion to becoming one of the keyblade's chosen wielders. his journey throughout the Kingdom Hearts has definitely been a winding road. So in honor of Kingdom Hearts: Melody coming out in the coming months, and us getting more gameplay from it at TGS, I want to dive into what specifically dictates Lea’s morality and the decisions he makes over the course of the franchise all the way up until the end of Kingdom Hearts III.

But even past this, question is, do his relationships with other Organization XIII member like Saïx, Roxas, Xion, and Zexion help us to determine where he is at in terms of his moral development? Well to using Lawrence Kohlberg's theory of moral development I attempt to answer that exact question. So I hope you enjoy my journey into the morals of Axel/Lea.
