Today we're checking out my new addiction, a hardcore rogue-lite space game called Everspace, along with it's new DLC release called Encounters. Everspace, like many rogue-lites, is filled with challenges, but don't let the difficulty deter you, part of the fun of the game is seeing how far you can get before hopelessly being outgunned...because every step you take allows you to upgrade your ship for THE NEXT run. These upgrades are persistent, so they will follow you through your gameplay. Encounters adds a ton of new stuff like a new ship, the Colonial Sentinel (easily my favorite ship), new weapons and items like the Lightning Gun the Sentinel wields which literally shoots lightning at enemies in space, the EMP which disables everything in a radius around your ship for a time, new missions, the new elusive "Factory" which you can upgrade your ship on the fly in, refine materials, and all sorts of stuff.

EMP Generators? Decoy Holograms? Why, yes! More than ten additional devices and consumables will make surviving Cluster 34... as hard as before. But even more fun.
THE FINAL TOUCH
If you're not too busy dying, the new G&B factory stations are well worth a visit. Here you can upgrade your ship, refine resources, and delay your inevitable fate by means of repairs.
