The Most Underrated Green Ramp Spell - Map the Frontier #commander #edh #magicthegathering
Map the Frontier packs a ton of utility by synergizing with Arid Archway and other desert lands to ramp for two tapped lands while also reaping the benefit of Arid Archway's bounceland trigger to "draw" a land. If you're looking for a better option than Skyshroud Claim that ramps you two mana while allowing you to draw another land, slam Map the Frontier into your deck. Does Map the Frontier edge out Skyshroud Claim in your decks? Let me know in the comments!

Are you looking for good 4 mana ramp spells that are as good as Skyshroud Claim? Allow me to introduce you to Map the Frontier from Outlaws of Thunder Junction. While the lands from Map the Frontier enter tapped, the key distinction is that Map the Frontier allows you to search for deserts which opens up a ton of possibilities. My favorite way to use this card is to search for Arid Archway and another color fixer land so that the net result of casting Map the Frontier is that I’ve ramped for 2 mana and drawn a land by bouncing back a land on my battlefield to my hand. But it doesn’t end there! If you’re in an aristrocrats archetype, you can search out Lazotep Quarry for a free protected sac outlet on board that fixes your colors. Speaking of color fixing, if you’re in a 5 color deck, Cactus Preserve and Survivor’s Encampment can fix you for all 5 colors. If you don’t need the color fixing, you can get a surveil trigger off of Conduit Pylons or exile graveyards with Scavenger Grounds. There's a ton of great synergy to be had with desert lands in Commander! EDH
Magic: The Gathering (MTG) is a popular collectible card game created by Richard Garfield and first released by Wizards of the Coast in 1993. It combines strategy, fantasy, and storytelling in a richly immersive game where players assume the roles of powerful spellcasters known as Planeswalkers. Each player builds a deck of cards representing magical spells, creatures, and artifacts, using them to battle opponents in a competition to reduce their life total to zero. The game is played using a variety of card types including lands which provide mana to cast spells, creatures that are used to attack and defend, and instants and sorceries which produce powerful one-time effects.
Magic features a complex ruleset and deep strategic elements, with gameplay that often involves constructing decks tailored to specific strategies, known as archetypes. With various formats like Standard, Modern, and Commander, MTG offers diverse gameplay experiences. Its expansive lore, numerous expansions, and continuous updates keep the game fresh and engaging. Players enjoy the dynamic nature of deck-building, strategic planning, and the thrill of both competitive and casual play. The game's rich universe and complex mechanics contribute to its enduring popularity and global community.
