The most underrated Real Madrid team of all-time
If aliens landed on Earth, and all they were interested in was football we’d have to nominate a club that encapsulated the sport to our new extra-terrestrial buddies. If we were to do so, there’s no better candidate than Real Madrid.
They’re the most successful Champions League team, they’ve got domestic honours in La Liga and the Copa del Rey coming out of their ears and they’re a global brand that is only ceilinged by our inability to play the sport in other galaxies.
They’ve produced innumerable world class teams, and before we kick off today I want you to think of one in particular.
Is it the Galacticos? Or the three-peat team of Zidane? Is it the team that won the first five European Cups? They’re certainly the headline teams of this great club.
In today’s film, however, we’re going to give some love to a lesser heralded team: the Vulture Squad, La Quinta del Buitre, led by Emilio Butragueno that ran rampant in the 80s.
