The Most Vulnerable Target in Unarmored Sword Duels?
In an epic fantasy duel you'd expect to see plenty of powerful attacks to the body or head. Realistically though, what is the most easily exploitable target in historical combat that a swordsman can aim for with minimal risk?
The hands (and forearms). It's not pretty, it's not heroic, and it may not seem particularly honorable. But it's a way to cause fight ending damage without exposing your own vitals, if you control the distance. In HEMA sparring it's one of the most difficult strikes to defend against.
