The 3DO console is one of my favorite retro gaming pieces of hardware around filled with some of my favorite retro games but the internet will tell you the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer was a failure and one of the worst game consoles of all time...and that just isn't true! Sure its no PS1 or Sega Saturn...but it started the 3D revolution in video gaming and still has some serious 3DO hidden gems on it! One game I personally consider one of the best video games ever!

So let's take a look at The Need for Speed on 3DO...the first entry in The Need for Speed franchise! Sure it got ported to PS1 and Sega Saturn...but the 3DO version is still the best Nee for Speed!

The Need for Speed was the marquee title for the 3DO and is widely considered to be one of the best 3DO games...for very good reason! It came out the same week that the PS1 launched in Japan and a full ten months before the Playstation launch in North America. It's basically Gran Turismo before it ever existed and shows the power of the 3DO console and it's one of the many reasons 3DO is worth it!
