The Neverending Story II for also released for Amiga and ZX Spectrum. The DOS port of the game was published by Merit Studios.

As usual, many many many many thanks to minotaurus85, the Commodore 64 expert (at least the most expert of his entire town :D); let's see what he wrote about this game:

Level 1: semi-labyrint platformer, where you have to look for an escape route and prevent the inhabitants of Silver City (those giant brown monsters) from capturing you.
You can "troll" them by touching them from behind and run away, so they would fall into the pit; otherwise you could simply avoid them by climbing stairs or jumping from high places.
The level ends when you reach the cliff that allows you to escape the city and approach Falkor, the giant dog/dragon.

Level 2: you're on Falkor back; you MUST hit the bad dragon to defeat him through a pseudo 3D level that is very basic but at the same time quite impressive considering that this is still a C64 title from 1990. The clouds with those lightnings, at the end of the level, are beautiful.
If you don't defeat the dragon during the race, despite reaching your destination, you lose a life and restart the level.

Level 3: You have to save your friend (Atreyu), climbing and avoiding obstacles, using pieces you have in the "inventory" to create ladder or bridges (and as if that wasn't enough you must also avoid obstacles and background elements).
If you lose a life, pieces you have already used remain on screen, so you will therefore find yourself with extra pieces to complete the level more easily.
Basically, without losing a life you have to use them all (and if you run out of them, it means that you took the wrong path).

Level 4: You have to escape by going down the stairs of this tower ,together with your friend who has a chain. Remeber to use carefully chain and spray, otherwise you lose a life (every life lost means Phantasia loses a piece of land)
nWhat to do in every chamber? Wait for 4 enemies to enter, then you can use the switch at the bottom to lock the door where they come out.
Once locked they will stop spawning and you can throw them into the hole in the center of the floor. Once you have eliminated every enemy, simply press the switch again to continue descending the tower.
There are 4 floors to overcome and obviously spray and chain remaining levels are not restored.

Level 5: escape on horseback, a section very similar to the first level of Wrath of the Demon or Back to the Future 3.
There's not much to say, just crouch and jump at the right time. You can only fall off your horse once, if you fall twice you lose a life (and therefore a piece of Phantasia) and you must start the stage all over again.

Level 6: you have to swim as fast as possible downwards, avoiding obstacles or whirlpools that will make you drown. The goal is to reach the branch at the very bottom of the level.

This video is part of the videogame endings database, whose goal is to catalogue and create the world's largest archive of videogame endings! (what an humble and not ambitious project :D)
