What's up dreamers?! Lot's of crazy tier shifts lately, especially in my favorite tier, RU. With all these dragons running around, it only make sense that a fast ice type would be useful right? I guess we'll find out.

To truly understand the importance of EVs, here's a few calcs from that final turn of that second battle:

Because I did 63% with Flare Blitz, I know he has no HP investment because of these calcs:
With full HP I couldn't have done that much damage: 0 Atk Emboar Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Meloetta: 192-226 (47.5 - 55.9%) -- 22.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
So he has to be running speed and special attack therefore this is what was happening:
0 Atk Emboar Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Meloetta: 192-226 (56.3 - 66.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Now if I had fully invested in my attack stat EVs (like I should have) then this is what would've happened:
252 Atk Emboar Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Meloetta: 235-277 (68.9 - 81.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
So because at the time the Meloetta was at 76% I had a solid chance of winning that game IF I hadn't been an idiot and forgot to put in my EVs. Which makes that loss all the more frustrating, because I had a solid chance of winning. SAAAAAALLLLTTT!!!!
