The Ninja Duo | MiSTer FPGA, Analogue Pocket, RetroArch
Growing up I absolutely loved Shinobi and Shadow Dancer by Sega. Even though I've played many games featuring Ninja's, these two are probably my favourite.

Shinobi Games: A Legendary Tale of Stealth and Skill
Shinobi games have captivated players for decades with their intense ninja action, challenging gameplay, and rich lore. The franchise has left an indelible mark on the gaming industry, becoming synonymous with stealth-based gameplay and adrenaline-pumping combat. From its inception in the arcades to its presence on modern consoles, Shinobi games have continually pushed the boundaries of what it means to be a ninja in the gaming world.
The mainline Shinobi series has undergone several iterations, each offering a unique experience while staying true to the core principles of the franchise. Here is a list of the mainline Shinobi games:
Shinobi (1987) - The original arcade game that introduced players to Joe Musashi, the iconic protagonist, as he battles the terrorist organization known as Zeed.
Shadow Dancer (1989) - A direct sequel to the original game, Shadow Dancer puts players in control of Joe Musashi's son, Hayate, as he fights to rescue hostages from a criminal syndicate.
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master (1993) - Widely regarded as one of the best entries in the series, this game follows Joe Musashi as he takes on the evil Neo Zeed organization.
Shinobi Legions (1995) - Released exclusively for the Sega Saturn, this game introduced a new protagonist, Sho, as he embarks on a quest to rescue a kidnapped princess.
Shinobi (2002) - A reboot of the series, this game reimagines Joe Musashi's story in a modern setting, with enhanced graphics and gameplay mechanics.
Shinobi (2003) - Another reboot, this game takes a different approach by presenting a side-scrolling platformer with 3D graphics and intense combat.
Shinobi (2011) - Developed for the Nintendo 3DS, this game offers a blend of side-scrolling action and touch screen mechanics, once again featuring Joe Musashi.
Apart from the mainline series, Shinobi has also spawned several spin-offs and related titles, including:
The Revenge of Shinobi (1989)
Shinobi X (1995)
Shinobi (2002) - Game Boy Advance version
Shinobi (2003) - Mobile version
Nightshade (2003)
Shinobi (2005) - PlayStation 2 version
Shinobi (2006) - Mobile version
Shinobi (2009) - Mobile version
Shinobi 2: Silent Fury (2011) - Nintendo 3DS eShop release

With its rich history and enduring popularity, the Shinobi franchise continues to inspire and entertain players around the world. Whether it's the classic side-scrolling action of the early games or the modern reimagining of the series, Shinobi games are a testament to the enduring appeal of the ninja mystique and the thrill of stealthy gameplay.
