When people think of the first RPG to be on a Sega console, it's most likely the first Phantasy Star that comes to mind. However, this is not the case. Several months earlier, there was one that released on the company's predecessor system, a console rarely known about today. Fittingly, it was one of the most ambitious, and ultimately the last official release for that system.

This is The Black Onyx for the Sega SG-1000, and this video gives an overview of the game, as well as a brief one about the system itself.
