The Outsider Who Loved Gensokyo: Touhou RPG Project - Part 74 (Makai 3 Conclusion & Satori)
The second part of Makai III is shorter than the first. However, there are no other shortcuts along the way until the last area has been reached. Is there a boss fight before that though? Of course! Yet again, an area is empty but it will have an event added to it later.
Satori is recruitable but she currently has no skills. She'll get at least a few next part but unlike most characters, she doesn't learn skills by having her level increased. Much like in Genius of Sappheiros, she's a blue mage that'll learn skills from enemies. Boss skills will be possible to be learned and certain areas that are no longer accessible after the Abyss will be possible to be visited too after Koishi is added in the game.
Much like Koishi, Satori is unique in the sense that she can be locked out of recruitment. However, to make that possible, Koishi's pre-Abyss events needs to be done and you must tell her that you don't want to see her again. This permanently removes Koishi from the game. Once that's done, talking to Satori after the Abyss event and locking Koishi out, Satori will then be locked out as well. This also effectively locks the player from events related to those two characters meaning Orin disappears and Okuu is never met again too.
If Koishi wasn't locked out before the Abyss and Satori accepts to join your party, both characters cannot be locked out anymore and will remain recruitable for the remainder of the run. Locking out Satori also guarantees the bad ending will be reached.

The fourth save allows the player to start at level 60 with 500,000 Yen and the Fake Kusanagi. This is primarily meant to allow players who starts over to have a quick start if they wish.
I started the project by focusing on the RPG aspect first, following the adventures of the protagonist and his interaction with the Touhou cast and I've been trying to remain as loyal as possible to the canon. This plot allows to explore Gensokyo and eventually go in Makai to meet Shinki, one of the possible main heroines of the plot. Many characters are possible to be recruited and a few more will be added eventually.
Please, feel free to leave both positive and negative feedback. Thanks for watching and let me know what you thought about it!
