Holy crap, this was a fluster cluck of an awesome good time. This vid captures my first victory in The Pit: Infinity -- an FPS roguelike that I HIGHLY recommend. This project originally began because a user accused the developers of the game being unwinnable, and as I set out to prove them wrong, things quickly spiraled into a deeper mess than I had originally anticipated (much like the Pit itself).

As with any first time you beat a rogeulike, looking back I can see 100 things I did wrong and should have done better. The big offender is how desperately I clutched to each gun, ammo box and odd little tidbit that I thought might come in handy later, but inevitably I was too stingy to ever use, and so they did me no good. I think definitely in future runs, I need to just keep one good weapon in tow for things like Female Zuuls, and then just burn through the rest, because otherwise, why else am I carrying them?

A couple hilarious moments come to mind--failing THREE TIMES to make the blasted Duct Tape armor in one go (maybe justification for hoarding crafting materials?), realizing that the Sniper Laser is absolute garbage against Tank-Mechs, and being so paranoid that the Super Hiverwas going to break the repair station, that I ran over to use it--therefore uh... causing the Super Hiver to break it.

In closing, this game is friggin' amazing. It's pure survival, RPG, FPS and mega-dungeon all thrown into one. Floor 20 alone is one of the coolest things I've ever gotten to be a part of in the gaming universe. You can really feel how the designers hand-crafted each room to tell a story about a massive underground lab.
