This does not bode well... I solved the minimal solution easy enough, and figured out the maximal solution as well, at least mathematically... but when trying to build it, I just couldn't figure out where to put the blocks and in what order. So, today's exercise to the viewer: take my notes listed below, and figure out how to actually build it in-game, following all rules regarding connectivity and access and not letting blocks decay.
