Fire Emblem began to be more of a wide spread franchise with Marth and Roy's inclusion in Super Smash Bros Melee. Fire Emblem was almost indefinitely cancelled if Fire Emblem Awakening didn't succeed. Fire Emblem Awakening was a smash hit, and lead into more Fire Emblem characters being in the fore-front of Super Smash Bros. A series that no one knew in the west, has 8 playable characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. With many people thinking there if this is too much, and why the characters lack a lens of originality. This video talks about the lead up to Byleth's inclusion in Smash Ultimate.
