Now, to actually talk about the video. As I said in the opening, I view writing and story as two different things -- a good story could have terrible writing, but due to other circumstances (ie. the person who told it, a specific theme), it can become a treasured story. So, when I say that SMT V's writing is bad, I am ONLY talking about the writing. There is a reason that it is consistently getting nominated for/labelled as the JRPG of the year (and, it having Jack Frost is reason enough).
That being said, there are many points in which the writing of SMT V goes against pretty much every rule of writing that I have ever been taught/learned through practice. And while I whole-heartedly believe that the rules of writing SHOULD be broken for the sake of the story, it must be done to improve the story, not to save time, resources, or be the after-effect of development hell.
