The progression of Street Fighter.. What I would do. Game theory
#sf2 #sfv #superturbo
So I know I ramble but I could get really nerdy if I wanted to.. So in terms of what I would do for meter. Something like a bar that goes to 100%. At 50% you can level 1.. At 100% you can do the level level 3 version of the super.. IF you even have one of it in the first place. Since again I dont think you need to necessarily.
Since you dont need multiple button presses for supers, this now allows the supers you do use to have potentially slightly different versions.. maybe one version of ryus shin shoryuken does a high damaging cvs1 style.. another version does one you can juggle off of if you need to build some meter after or are close to dizzying who knows...
Also make the meter have something like cvs2 C groove. So if you have a level 1, for a quarter more bar you can then cancel out of it with a special move, for whatever...
And of course as I said, NO EX moves in terms of generic souped up versions. EX moves should only be unique moves that add something new to the dynamic of a character.
Just this alone could potentially make teh game very crazy I think and potentially not SF. But combos getting bigger and more meter are a necessary evil i think if you will of games. Again using the example I gave in a video just with a game as simple as this, with no extra bars nothing.. imaging something like a ST ken jumps in on, cross up medium, medium, funky kick to overhead, link duck medium, dp super, you have a bit extra bar so you cancel it with funky kick, do the overhead out of it, link to duck m, do another funky kick, then since you built that smidge extra meter doing that use the example of what i said for ken as a ex move, if you then input a motion durning the funky kick, he then goes into a sorta ghetto shippu super.. it goes along with teh funky kicks anyway, and it adds a sorta new dynamic to him, but giving those funky kicks more uses, with out seeming stale.
So much stuff you could do with even something simple like this
