DESCRIPTION
The Puppet of Tersa is a point and click adventure presented in a hand-drawn style that blends childlike innocence with something darker. This storybook tale takes place in an era of the past, before computers and smartphones, when children solved problems through exploration and creativity. The majority of it is set in Tersa, a strange world, both whimsical and creepy, with bizarre creatures and unusual inhabitants.
Get ready for a light-hearted--and dark--point and click adventure.
STORY
Cynthia, a curious young girl, finds herself in the strange and eerie world of Tersa. In her search for a way home, she discovers that a mysterious force keeps her from being able to leave. Help Cynthia navigate her way through Tersa, meet new friends, solve puzzles, and confront the mysterious force that keeps her from going home.
GAMEPLAY
The Puppet of Tersa is a point and click 2D adventure game. Interacting with objects in the world and in Cynthia’s inventory provides the player with the tools and information needed to solve the puzzles that will allow them to lead Cynthia back home.
FEATURES
Story Driven:
The adventure of an innocent child reveals the deeper story of the strange world of Tersa. - A rich world to be explored, nearly everything in the game is interactable, giving you the opportunity to learn more about the world of Tersa.
Chapter 1 of the story is set in the forest area of Tersa, we currently have 5 different regions planned so far. Each of them will have a unique feel and be home to many of the strange and wonderful races of Tersa.
While on your journey Cynthia will have puzzles to solve to progress, this provides the core foundation of The Puppet of Tersa gameplay. You will also be able to unlock special puzzles and quests, giving you a chance to discover secret characters and further understand the dark and fantastic world of Tersa.
Digitally Hand Painted:
Everything in Tersa is digitally hand painted using specialised brushes to give the presence of the artist's hand at work. The lead artist is Loz Hawnt, Loz grew up watching cartoons, reading comics, and of course obsessively playing games. The creepy and darker pieces always caught his eye, and he developed a style which reflects that. Studying in the arts and continuing into Animation at university gave him the tools to be able to create his own dark and sinister world, Tersa.
Collectables:
There are collectable items scattered throughout the game, find and collect them all to unravel hidden quests and messages. Interact with objects and characters in Tersa to gain sketches by Cynthia in her Journal. While obtaining the collectables you can also receive Game Achievements. You are awarded these for story progression, completing side-quests, finding collectables, and more.
Music:
The soundtrack for The Puppet of Tersa is composed by Scott Andrews. With over 10 years of experience composing for games under his belt, Scott will be bringing Tersa to life with his eerie, fantastical, and ambient pieces. So far the work he’s done for the game is absolutely incredible.
