The Pyrrhic War started from 280BC to 270BC was among the bloodiest conflicts of ancient antiquity. Before the rise of Carthage, a small Greek kingdom - Epirus challenged Roman might by invading lands on her doorstep and it was led by an ambitious Molossian king – Pyrrhus who was a second cousin of Alexander the Great.
