Daraku Tenshi is probably the strangest game we've played on this Quest, as despite being commercially released, it is famously unfinished. It is an interesting game with a mysterious history. Created by the same people who worked on Battle K-Road, it takes a similar approach to combat, favoring faux-realism and fluid movement over traditional movement and timing often associated with Street Fighter. It ends up feeling a lot like Art of Fighting 3, which is ironic because rumor states that SNK would scalp a lot of Psykio's talent after this to work on KOF, which can be seen in the incredible similarities that the N.E.S.T.S. Saga newcomers share with the cast of Daraku Tenshi. Much like many SNK games, Daraku Tenshi has multiple jump arcs, an invincible dodge, and anti-air jabs to compliment the focus on pressure and spacing, and a 3 meter super bar as well as unlimited supers when the player is close to death. New to the table, though, is the ability to hold your invincible dodge to gain more invincibility at the cost of adding more recovery to the move, a "power stance" mechanic where the player can press two buttons to sacrifice mobility and shift into a new set of physical attacks. Due to the game's unfinished nature, there is some jank from time to time, and balance isn't perfect, but it's still an incredibly unique game that is both fun to play and beautiful to watch.
