The Rapid Treasure Escape - Hidden Indie Gems
In this series we explore a new indie game each week made by indie developers on the look out for hidden indie gems. This week we are sitting down with The Rapid Treasure Escape by a student team from Cologne. This is a very fun and exciting co-operative pirate sailing game where I'm joined by my special guest Stacey.
Check out this gameplay video where I give my opinion on the fly as we find out if this game deserves to be called a hidden indie gem.
The Rapid Treasure Escape was created within 2 months as part of their first university student project at Cologne Game Lab, they were given the overall theme of "Finding Joy" for the semester, and for this game it was "success" and much success can be found if you complete a level where you've amassed a large wealth of gold!
The Rapid Treasure Escape is a 2 player shared screen game available on PC, with a unique twist, you share a controller to work a little boat! I found this game to be very frantic and fast paced as you are permanently being chased, but also very fun to play with a friend as you work through procedurally generated maps.
