So, I had a bit of trouble getting this working!

After a bit of techie jiggery pokery I finally managed to get this awesome game working using #virtualbox and an old copy of #Windows95 I had laying around.

Its not running perfectly (a tad bit fast and the sound is slightly out of sync) but its very playable even in this state. I loved this game back in '97 so here is a full playthough (and who doesnt love the banging tunes in this one!)

The below was taken from the wikipedia page

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Reap

#TheReap is an arcade shooter. It was released in 1997 for the PC, developed by Housemarque and published by Take 2 Interactive Software Europe.

The game has a total of 4 stages and each stage has three to four levels, altogether there are 10 levels. Players are tasked to shoot enemies in an arctic oriented scenery. Next they fly through the deep oceans, wherein between shipwrecks and fish bones are sharks, submarines, and a genetically-engineered quadrapus waiting for them. After this there comes a canyon-desert stage. At last, players fight their enemies in a skyscraper city.

The player's ship can get 5 weapon systems and all of them can be upgraded three times. The biggest weapon is a rocket blaster. Players can also find bombs or invulnerability shields.

The game was influenced by the Neo Geo game Viewpoint and shares some similarities like the isometric view.

absolutenot - God mode

Level Codes

Level 2 - qbkcbedb
Level 3 - cclcbudc
Level 4 - 5cmcb4fsb

Also, appologies for some crackling that occurs at the start and (even though you can barely hear it over the pumping techno) later in the video. This is due to audio issues with the virtual soundblaster 16 and compatibility)

Thanks for watching
