The Red Book of C.G.Jung - a reading and review - part 5 - The Imitation of Christ
In this episode, symbolic balance and integration of opposites is key. Part of our development, and perhaps even awakening, may well depend on delving into the unconscious in a manner which, to the 'normality' of the materialistic times we live in, may be deemed insane. Is balance godly, and is imbalance ungodly? We also explore Jung's three level dream where Jung encountered certain characters which may well have been archetypal figures. These were the excessively logical yet symbolically stunted librarian and the intuitive woman and cook in the mysterious kitchen, the authoritarian professor in a psychiatric institution who gaslight's Jung for having a religious book with him and using an intuitive method, and the librarian and cook acting on a stage, The Legend of the Holy Grail with Jung himself participating and making up the audience. This three stage dream was steeped in symbolism. Take a listen to find out more. I also briefly explore the symbolic themes of Star Wars...
