7Welcome to a BRAND NEW series which sees the return of retro games to the channel! This is The Retro Show! In this series, we'll be revisiting old classics from the Playstation (PS1) and Playstation 2 (PS2) era. We'll be playing each game for around 20-30 minutes and, if you guys enjoy it enough, it could turn in to a full let's play! Join me as we take a trip down nostalgia lane in this Retro Games Showcase!
In today's installment, we play PGA Tour 96 on the PS1.
Developed by Hitmen Productions and released by Electronic Arts in 1995 for the PlayStation, Game Boy, Genesis, 3DO, Game Gear and SNES. It has fewer courses and golfers than previous installments. The game features 10 professional golfers as playable or as CPU opponents: Brad Faxon, Lee Janzen, Tom Kite, Bruce Lietzke, Davis Love III, Mark OโMeara, Peter Jacobsen, Jeff Sluman, Craig Stadler, and Fuzzy Zoeller. The featured courses are Spyglass Hill, TPC at Sawgrass, TPC at River Highlands. The game has four modes: stroke play, match play, tournament mode, and practice mode. Golf clubs are assigned automatically by the caddy as the computer deems suitable for every lie and every situation.
