With the Mortal Kombat movie releasing soon, I wanna talk about it's R-Rating. The R-Rating may have been around since the 1970s, but you may have noticed that the rating has become a recent trend in the last few years. Kicking into popularity with Deadpool and Logan, being boosted everymore by Joker, and now with the Snyder Cut, and Mortal Kombat, it's clear the entire industry wants to lean in on this new territory. But what does that mean for the future of films? And are there any major drawbacks to these decisions? Well, here's a video essay for you at least.
